Shift handoff without the guesswork
A structured handoff format that takes 90 seconds to write and saves the incoming caregiver an hour of detective work.
The worst time to discover something important is the first hour of your shift. Pretzel’s handoff template forces the outgoing caregiver to answer a short, structured set of questions:
- What changed today? Meds, supplies, doctor calls, anything outside routine.
- What’s still open? Procedures partially done, refills pending, follow-up needed.
- Watch for what? Symptoms or behaviors the next caregiver should monitor.
- Notable timing. Last dose / next dose, last feed / next feed, last vitals.
It takes 90 seconds. The result is an incoming caregiver who can start their shift instead of starting an investigation.
